Megan Fahrney Megan Fahrney is currently a graduate journalism student at Northwestern University, specializing in Health, Environment and Science reporting. She’s from the Chicago area and attended the University of Notre Dame, where she studied Political Science for her undergraduate degree. At Notre Dame, she wrote for the student-run newspaper, The Observer. After graduation, Megan lived in Benin, a small country in West Africa, for a year as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant. In Benin, she wrote freelance articles for two international digital media outlets centered on uplifting underrepresented voices in the Global South. She’s currently enjoying on-the-ground reporting in Chicago and has written articles on the impact of SNAP benefit cuts on local food pantries, the primary care physician shortage, and urban agriculture initiatives. She enjoys reporting on stories at the intersection of health, the environment, and politics.
